Calcium Iodate Calcium iodate is also called lautarite and is a compound of calcium
and iodate anion. It is used as a dough conditioner. Calcium iodate is
an oxidant added to lotions and ointments as an antiseptic and
deodorant. It is used in agriculture as a stable form of iodine in
animal feed to correct iodine deficiency and prevent various animal
diseases, in food industry for iodisation of table salt and in
pharmaceuticals it is used for the manufacture of disinfectants,
antiseptics and deodorants.
